To meet the needs of our clients, Sasserath & Zoraian, LLP was established as a New York CPA firm to provide accounting, tax, and business advisory services to corporations, small businesses and individuals throughout the Long Island area and beyond. Recognizing that each client has unique goals, we tailor our services to meet client specific needs. To better meet the needs of our clients, we have individualized services for clients in specialty areas such as Financial Services, International Tax, Technology Companies and various other consumer and professional services. These individualized services have enabled us to address industry specific challenges, compliance needs and standard tax practices.
Alan Sasserath, Partner

Alan started his career in the audit department of Ernst & Young prior to working in the tax departments of two large regional firms. In 1996, Alan started his own practice and subsequently joined with Gregory Zoraian in January 1997 to form Sasserath & Zoraian, LLP. He has 20 plus years of public accounting firm experience with a broad background in accounting, tax, audit and financial planning. Alan's technical experience includes working with high net worth individuals and closely held businesses, dealing with matters related to both domestic and international tax. His industry experience includes technology companies, real estate management companies, construction, printing as well as numerous service industries.
Gregory Zoraian, Partner
Masters in Taxation -- Seton Hall University, Orange, New Jersey (1988)
BBA in Accounting -- Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York (1980)
Greg started his career with Ernst & Young before taking a job in private industry . Dissatisfied with the pace of private industry Greg decided to start his own practice in 1993. In 1997 he joined with Alan Sasserath to form Sasserath & Zoraian . He has 25 years of experience in public accounting and financial management experience with a broad background in accounting, tax, and financial planning. His industry experience includes working with law firms, supermarkets, construction as well as numerous service industries. Greg utilizes a hands on approach to his practice which has resulted in numerous referrals from existing clients over the years.
Greg’s strength originally was as a tax practitioner while working at E&Y, however in recent years Greg has developed a niche of being the outsourced CFO at many of his clients. This approach has allowed many of his clients to delegate to Greg the responsibility of running their accounting department so that they may focus on the running of their operation.
Michael O'Brien, Principal

Michael is a Tax Principal in our International Tax practice. He has over 20 years of experience in public accounting, most of it gained at PricewaterhouseCoopers and BDO in New York and prior to that, at KPMG in London. Michael has a wide range of private client, business and international experience. He specializes in servicing clients with cross-border tax situations giving rise to offshore structure planning as well as complex expatriate and nonresident alien tax matters. Michael provides cross-border tax compliance and consulting services to multinational companies. He also engages in tax planning and compliance for U.S. beneficiaries of foreign trusts in addition to advising foreign athletes and entertainers. Michael holds Bachelor of Business Studies and Masters degrees from Trinity College Dublin and is an Enrolled Agent of the Internal Revenue Service. He is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Ireland and currently resides in Long Island, New York.
